‘i don’t have time’

Convenient phrase for justifying laziness

October 19th 2013
Do not say you don’t have enough time to devote to spiritual exercises because you have to go to work in the morning, and you have lots to do before leaving, and the same when you come back in the evening… Because I will reply that if you have no time to be in harmony and light, you will always have time for turmoil, disorder and darkness. One thing life is certain to bring is feelings of sadness, weakness and discouragement, whereas it is less certain that you will be happy, strong and serene. Why is that? Because of those words everyone delights in saying: ‘I don’t have time!’ It is a convenient way of justifying laziness and inertia. You don’t have time to concentrate, meditate, pray, do exercises to become more robust, more enlightened? What destiny are you preparing for yourself?
