Harmony

Condition of inner silence; meditation

February 23rd 2014
It is explained to those who wish to practise meditation that they must first become silent inside. So they close their eyes and concentrate… But what often happens? All their cares, worries and feelings of animosity immediately surface, and soon they even find it impossible to stay still and maintain a good posture. So, anyone beginning to practise meditation must be aware beforehand that it is a difficult exercise requiring great discipline. In fact, the inner silence they are trying to achieve is the result of an accord between the three planes – the physical, astral and mental. And this accord can only be achieved if they begin by disciplining their physical body, their heart and their mind with the aim of making them harmonious. ‘Harmony’… Take this word in, for it is the key that opens the doors to the realm of silence: harmony on the physical plane, harmony on the astral plane (in feelings), harmony on the mental plane (in thoughts) and also harmony between these three planes. The silence you are then able to create inside you will be accompanied by a sensation of lightness, of freedom: a weight will fall from your shoulders, you will be free of constraints, and as your soul escapes its prison it will extend freely out into space.
