Gestures and feelings

How they interact

April 8th 2015
There is a close relationship between feelings and the physical body. When you feel annoyance or satisfaction, your face and gestures express your feelings, whether you want them to or not. If you feel affection for someone, you have an instinctive urge to meet up with them, smile at them, hug them and bring them presents. But if you are furious with them, what an effort it is not to express your anger by shouting, throwing something at their head or kicking them! So we betray every feeling through a particular physical expression, and the opposite is also true. If you express wonder on your face, you will end up feeling it for real. Pretend you are indignant, and that’s also what you will become. Just as feelings provoke gestures, gestures also provoke feelings. These are laws you must be aware of and put to use in your daily life so that you can find the best way to behave.
