Subconscious to superconsciousness

April 13th 2015
What psychologists refer to as consciousness often resembles a forum, to which our lower nature – all the tendencies and instincts living in our subconscious, which we have inherited from the animal kingdom – comes to make its voice heard. This is why disciples must expect surprises when they embark on the path of light. They want to meditate and impose discipline on themselves, but then their lower nature starts to protest, ‘Oh no, not that! I need distractions and pleasures.’ And assailed by all these demands, the poor disciple often gives up. But if, despite everything, they manage to close their ears to this voice and listen only to the voice of their higher nature, they become increasingly free. Then, the heavenly entities, noticing the effort they are making, bring their support. The disciple’s consciousness opens up more and more to the currents of light, and they begin to live in superconsciousness. Of course, even then, they won’t be completely safe from the voices of their subconscious, which are trying to hold them back. But if they are tireless in their efforts, they will eventually erect a barrier between themselves and these voices and will one day be completely out of reach of them, in peace and light.
