Trials
Are the result of debts that have to be paid; by accepting them we become free

So, you have decided to walk the path of light. Do not think that that will keep you safe from life’s misfortunes and accidents. You were right to make this decision, but it will not protect you from life’s trials. To be free from trials, you have to have got rid of all past debts. If they are still hanging over you, you must pay them. Whether or not you follow a spiritual teaching and are in the light, nothing else will free you from your debts.
You are now walking the good path, that’s true, and of course from now on you are also making every effort only to do good, but you should know that the good you do will bear fruit in the future and not immediately. So, when you go through difficulties, you must accept them and say, ‘Lord God, this cannot destroy the good work I am doing. I know that by accepting these trials I am becoming free. So, I do not rebel, I do not ask to be spared, and I continue to work.’
