Raindrops

An image for human destinies

December 27th 2016
Human souls come to incarnate on earth, then they leave, and their destinies can be compared to that of drops of rain. Each drop falls exactly on the spot intended for it by the decrees of cosmic intelligence so as to fulfil its task. One way or another, each drop has to sacrifice itself, to slake someone’s thirst, refresh someone who is hot, wash someone who is dirty after a day’s work, water a field that has been sown. And there are many more sacrifices that can be asked of water: to contribute to making bread, to help to cook food, or even to dilute toxic substances in order to make them harmless, and so on. In any case, it must not rebel but accept, even if it becomes polluted, even if it is wasted, even if people misuse it. When it has fulfilled its purpose, it can return to heaven to regain its transparent quality. The same is true of the human soul.
