Air

Feeds the fire of life

January 17th 2017
All the mystery of life is contained in our breathing. But life is neither to be confused with the act of breathing nor with air itself. Life has its origins in an element higher than air and for which air is a food: fire. Yes, life originates in fire. Air serves only to feed this fire, and without the presence of air the fire goes out. The lungs merely feed the fire that burns in the heart. The primary cause of life, therefore, is fire, and air, its brother, sustains and enlivens it. When man breathes his last, the fire goes out: the last outbreath extinguishes the fire. Since it is air that sustains the fire of life, we must pay great attention to the process of respiration. The ability to breathe does not mean everything is fine. No, in most people, even though they are alive and breathing, the process of breathing has become weak, compromised. This is why they must make the effort to work with the breath so as to animate, purify and intensify the life within them.
