Judgments, the

We make about others say something about us too

August 28th 2011
Don’t think that those who point out dishonesty, unfairness and wickedness in others are necessarily good people. On the contrary, often it is those who have these faults themselves who see them everywhere: they are always critical and suspicious, because they judge the whole world through their own failings. And conversely, those who are fine human beings hardly notice the faults in those around them, for they see others through the qualities they themselves possess. Each person sees things only through their own eyes, and what they see is shaped by their own thoughts and feelings. If you meet people who only talk about others’ faults, know that what they are revealing is mainly about themselves, one way or another. If they were noble, kind, honest and, above all, loving, they would find all these good qualities in others as well.
