Holy spirit, the

Beloved of the human soul

The spiritualist works to attract celestial fire and knows this fire will only come to a place they have especially prepared for it. They strive tirelessly to purify and sanctify this place, which is of course within themselves. Through meditation, prayer, and the practice of virtues, they build a home made of a pure and luminous matter so that the fire may recognize its own quintessence, and be irresistibly drawn to it. In Christian tradition this celestial fire is called the Holy Spirit, and the feast of Pentecost celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus’ disciples in the form of flames or tongues of fire. Every day, through our soul and our spirit, we must think to link ourselves to the celestial fire – the Holy Spirit – which is love, intelligence and power. And when this fire sees a human being who manifests an interest in it, who sings with it, who understands it, it feels attracted. This is why it is presented as a bridegroom, as a spouse who goes to his beloved, the human soul.
