Do you ever think of marvelling and giving thanks each day to heaven for the existence of millions of men and women on earth endowed with so many different qualities, and the greatest talents? Just imagine all these creatures you have not yet had the chance to meet; think about them and delight in the very idea that they exist and that one day, you might get to know them and personally express your admiration.
Yes, learn to rejoice at the thought that so many men and women exist. Do not expect your happiness to come exclusively from the person by your side. Most of you will reply that you prefer to have someone near, all to yourselves. Of course, I understand, except that no single woman can embody the sum of the riches of all womankind, nor can any one man possess the riches of all men. But if you think of all the magnificent beings that populate the earth you will feel fulfilled.
