Dwelling places
Exist on all planes
January 5th 2019
What exactly is a dwelling place? It is a place where we shelter, where we work and where we live. But we could say that our physical body itself is a dwelling place, and so too is any body on the physical plane – animals, trees, flowers and stones are all dwelling places.
We have at least two dwelling places on the physical plane: our house and our body. However, dwelling places are not something we have only on the physical plane, they are also present on the psychic and spiritual planes. For on these subtle planes, we also have dwelling places: our astral, mental, causal, buddhic and atmic bodies. And, just as several dwelling places can be housed in the same building, our various psychic dwelling places form part of our physical body.
The notion of a dwelling place goes much further still, for the house made of wood, stone or concrete that shelters our physical body is in turn housed in another much larger and vaster abode: the earth. And the earth dwells in the solar system which itself resides in the cosmos. That is how we can understand the concept of a house.
