‘i am the way, the truth and the life‘

The analogy of a river clarifies the these words of jesus

The words of Jesus, 'I am the way, the truth and the life' are written in many churches and temples. To understand their meaning, we must understand the three words 'way', 'truth' and 'life' in relation to each other. And at first this seems almost impossible. But an image, that of a river, can help us. A river originates at a source where water flows fourth. This source represents the truth. The water, life, flows and over time it digs its bed and creates its path. In the beginning, there is always a source – the truth. Water – life flowing from this source – is love. And the bed of the river – the way – is wisdom. As the water flows from the source, it flows down bringing life to the entire universe. If we wish to drink this water in its purest form, we must retrace the river up to the source by following the path of wisdom. Fed by love that is life, and guided by wisdom, the way, we reach the source, the truth.
