Inner temple, the

In which our prayers are heard

May 5th 2019
Firstly, a temple is a building that isolates from profane space to create a holy place, a sanctuary for the Divine. It is good to build such places – temples, churches, synagogues or any other place of worship – so that humans, casting aside their daily prosaic preoccupations, can go there, conscious that their spirit and soul will receive nourishment. The atmosphere of reverence created by all those in attendance, as well as by all those who came before them to meditate, pray and sing in this temple, attracts heavenly beings, and each person then leaves regenerated, purified, enlightened, and at peace. However, it is foremost within ourselves that we must build this sacred space in order to receive the Divine. The power of a prayer does not depend on the place where it is uttered. If your inner sanctuary has fallen into neglect, your prayers will not be heard. But if, through thoughts, feelings and acts inspired by wisdom and love, you have purified and illuminated your sanctuary, your voice will rise up to heaven wherever you may be.
