Enjoy outer variety without changing direction

Human beings do not particularly enjoy hearing about fidelity and stability. They find it boring; they need change. But who says that stability and faithfulness are incompatible with change? We can vary anything we like as long as we do not change direction.
Masters and initiates also like change and variety, but not just anywhere or anyhow. A Master is in favour of outer variety, and inner unity, that is to say fidelity to a high ideal.
