No book can teach you more essential truths than the Gospels. You will say that you have read them and have not discovered much in them, which is why you are now turning towards oriental teachings. Well, this simply proves that you have not understood the immeasurable wisdom contained in these Gospels that were written for you. Yes, I know, people have had their fill of these texts they know so well, and they want a change of diet, but it is dangerous to go searching for it in teachings that are not destined for you, that are not designed for your structure or your mentality.
The teaching that was designed for Westerners is that of Christ. You have not read it seriously or meditated on it. You are genuinely searching for something, I know, but to what end? Very often, people follow an oriental teaching in order to brag about it or simply to be different, but that is pointless. It only proves that they like the outlandish and not the simple truth.
