Trials of initiation take place in everyday life, the
September 17th 2021
Nowadays, rites of initiation no longer take place in temples but in life. It is now life that puts us through the trials of the four elements, which are the trials of matter. When man was cast out of paradise for having disobeyed the Lord, he lost his power over matter – symbolically represented by the four elements. In order to regain this power, he must learn to control his physical body (earth), his feelings (water), his thoughts (air), and master his sexual energy (fire).
But is it still of any use to talk to human beings about mastering their sexual energy? Increasingly, all the rules in this area are being flouted; young people and adults think only of stupidly wasting this force, this quintessence, which is a condensation of sacred fire. And in so doing, they allow sickness and death to penetrate them insidiously.
