Do not revisit negative states

Like most people, you have a bad habit of generally remembering the things that have made you suffer; you carry these memories around with you, you look at them and ruminate on them. This is a very dangerous habit – you must not dwell on what was bad. You must draw a conclusion from it once and for all and then never think back on it. You do yourself harm by continually revisiting negative events or circumstances. Try rather to remember the most luminous moments of your life; think of how they happened and who was instrumental in bringing them about; bring them often to mind and play them over again just as you play your favourite music, and you will re-live the same sensations of purity, freedom and light.
