Trust awakens the best in people. When you trust someone, you encourage them to walk the path of good: they feel obliged to improve themselves in order to prove to you that you were not mistaken about them. Of course, there will always be a few among those you trust who will betray you.
But just because some humans are selfish, mean or ungrateful doesn’t mean that you should categorically despise, detest and reject them all. If you reach this point, it means that you are ignorant. Those who understand human nature and know the laws of magic, continue to want to enlighten human beings, to help them and to make them happy in spite of their wickedness and betrayals.
