Become conscious of its wealth

You have not yet given priority to the spiritual life. You are like children, always so fascinated by the people and events around you that you just stand and gape, oblivious to everything else. Your experience of the inner life has been too meagre to give you any idea of the extraordinary wealth this world contains. And not having experienced this, you have still not tasted the joys of the spirit. You say, ‘Other people live better and possess much more than I do. What can I do with my poor spirituality? Look at all their wealth and success! If only I could be like them!’ But once you manage to taste sensations of a truly superior, divine order, no external veneer, no illusion will ever dazzle you or impede your spiritual growth again.*
