Work for universal brotherhood
It is up to each of you to decide to work for the collectivity rather than just for yourself. It is in your own interest to do so, for you are a part of that collectivity, and when the collectivity makes progress and things get better, you also benefit. You benefit because you have placed your capital in a bank known as the human family, a universal brotherhood of which you are a member. Whereas, when you work for yourself, for your own very limited little self, nothing good can come of it. ‘Yes it will, since I have worked for myself’, you might say. No, your egotistical, individual self is a bottomless pit, and by working for that alone, you have thrown everything into this pit. You should work for another, much higher goal – the ideal of universality.*
