The pillars of mercy and severity

Study the two pillars of the Tree of Life: mercy and severity.* In order to succeed and be useful, a teacher must know how to work with both – sometimes with leniency, sometimes with severity. A Master must be capable of showing a great deal of love and tenderness, but he must also be strict when the progress and advancement of his disciples require it. And if his disciples do not accept this severity, they should not be in an Initiatic School. A Master needs workers for heaven, but if they can think of nothing but their own little personalities, and are always getting upset, they are useless. True disciples must put their own personality aside, and show themselves to be all spirit, all intelligence. Only then can the Master count on them for divine work.
