Detaching ourselves from our restrictive lower self

Some doctrines from India teach us that the world is an illusion, ‘maya’. No. The world is a reality – not the reality, but a reality. And matter is also a reality. What is truly an illusion, the most detrimental illusion humans have, is this belief that we are separate from universal life,* from that unique Being whose existence fills the whole of space, but whom we can neither see nor understand because our lower self stands in the way. This is therefore the aim of our meditation and prayers: to detach ourselves from this restrictive lower self and draw nearer to our higher Self, which dwells in infinity, eternity and fulfilment. Once the communication is established, we can journey freely to our higher Self, our cosmic Self, which vibrates in harmony with all beings.
