Bringing up children

Awakening them to things and beings

July 9th 2012
It is important for children to open up to the world from an early age and to take in as many impressions as they can, for it is those very early experiences that enrich their inner world. Their parents must help them in this by drawing their attention to shapes, sounds, colours and scents. The parents must also make their children aware of what is happening around them, while, at the same time, of course, watching that they do not expose themselves to danger. The children go to school, where they begin to acquire knowledge. This is necessary, but it is not enough. It is also important that their intelligence and sensitivity is nurtured by their meeting as many people as possible, even the most humble. Let them see how hard people work and what great value there is in a few coins earned by the sweat of one’s brow.
