We must not wait until we are old to serve him, but do so when we are young

There are people who, having squandered all their physical and psychic energies in a chaotic life, decide one day to start a family. They have nothing left to offer a wife or husband or children, but that doesn’t matter, they must find something to do to stave off loneliness and boredom.
This is also the case of some people who, towards the end of their lives, decide to serve God. They have spent years in the pursuit of pleasure, money and glory, and now, having used up all their energies, they decide that it is time to place themselves in the service of the Lord. But what can the Lord do with an army of invalids, cripples and dodderers? We must not wait until we are old, worn-out and impotent to decide to serve the Lord. It is when we are young, beautiful and full of strength that we should have a high ideal and dedicate our life to it. The Lord turns his attention to such beings and pours his wisdom and love into them.
