God

Think of him as if we were within him

November 4th 2026
If we think of the Lord as a being who exists outside ourselves, then it follows that we too must exist outside of Him. And if we are external to Him, then what? We are no more than objects in relation to Him. But what exactly is an ‘object’? Consider a cook, for example, who works with pots and pans, objects that remain separate from her. From time to time she uses them to prepare a meal, and then, when the work is done, she sets them aside until she needs them again. Well, as long as we believe that we exist apart from God, the same holds true for us: He picks us up and sets us aside as if we were objects. If pots and pans could talk, what would they say? They would moan, ‘Our mistress has forgotten us! At least we were warm when she used us, and the spoon made a pleasant sound when she scraped our insides, we were happy then... But now she has abandoned us. How mean, how cruel she is!’
Well, what do you expect? If you are like a saucepan in relation to the Lord, isn’t it only normal that He should forget you from time to time? When you become conscious that you exist within Him, that you are a part of Him, that you are in His head, His organs, His limbs, then yes, you will be forever with Him and in Him.
