Collectivity
Work for the human collectivity and also that of the universe
February 17th 2026
Our place in this universe is not as simple as that of a stone, plant or animal. As thinking beings, we have a different role to play: our work is to contribute towards building the edifice of collective life. As long as we work only for ourselves, nothing good will come of it. ‘But if I work for myself, I will certainly gain something from it!’ you may say. Not so, because the selfish, isolated ‘self’ you are working for is a bottomless pit that swallows up everything you throw into it. This is no way to work. Those who are too individualistic and selfish are oblivious to the benefits they would enjoy if they worked for the collectivity.
But understand me clearly: when I speak of ‘collectivity’, this ‘collectivity’ is not confined to the human race, it encompasses the whole universe, all the creatures in the universe, and even God Himself. This collectivity, this immensity for which you are working is like a bank, and one day, everything you paid in will return to you―with interest.
