When filling a glass of water imagine all the waters on earth

Each time you fill a glass with water, remember that you are in the presence of an element that exists in so many forms in nature: in oceans, seas, lakes and rivers, in torrents tumbling down from a mountain, in small, unseen springs bubbling up amid pebbles or grasses, in the rain that waters the earth...
You might say: ‘Are you really asking us to see all that in a simple glass of water?’ Yes, why not? You can do so when you are in the kitchen or bathroom, taking water from the tap to prepare a meal or to wash yourself. Of course, this may not be the most poetic way of making contact with water. Still, it is the perfect opportunity to think about the symbolism of water—life and purity—and use your imagination to connect with all the waters on earth.
