Purity

True purity is divine love, it is water that gushes from a spring

October 6th 2026
True purity should serve only to prepare a fit dwelling-place for the Holy Spirit so that it may come and settle within you, for it is the Spirit who will provide the conditions you need to work for the coming of the Kingdom of God on earth. Too many so-called spiritual people still believe that to be pure means to guard against all contact with others, to shut themselves up in a glass jar. No, purity such as this, that does nothing, is virtually useless, it is even harmful.
True purity is divine love, because divine love is life: it is the water that gushes from a spring, and this gushing water repels everything that is dirty, dull or dark. Even if you are as white as snow, purity without love is not really purity. So many people believe that purity is all about renouncing love. Yes, there are people who are as pure as snow, but they are also as cold as snow. They have no love and their purity is sterile. It is not from love that you should shield yourself, but from selfish thoughts and feelings, because as soon as such feelings arise in you, you are no longer pure. True purity is that of crystal-clear water, which springs up and flows forth to irrigate fields and gardens.
