Technical progress
Good in itself, but some of its uses are questionable
December 4th 2012
Technical progress could be such a good thing if humans did not use it as they do to serve their greed, thereby risking destroying the very foundation of their life on earth. For this reason technical progress is not true progress. To be able to send devices to the moon or to other planets is extraordinary, of course. But what actually is the purpose of doing so? To exploit their resources and do as much damage there as on earth? To do battle in space? To create mayhem throughout the universe?
There is nothing intrinsically wrong about wanting to explore the cosmos, but only once we have found the right attitude towards the earth. Humans respect nothing; they think they are the masters of the universe, and they are ready to disrupt everything to satisfy their curiosity or their greed. Well, they should know that one day they will have to pay dearly for such disrespect and such violence.
