Inner world

Which should be given priority

Students will try to please their teachers, because they need their approval in order to gain the qualification that will allow them to have a profession, to have their place in society. This is normal; it’s fine, but it’s not enough. For just as there is an external world where from time to time they will have to carry out an activity, there is also an inner world where they live at all times, and there too they must study and exercise in order to feel accepted. It is not only in schools and universities that you find teachers and examiners. In our inner world too we must go before a board of examiners, and its verdict is so much more important! The attraction the outer world exerts on people tends to make them neglect their inner world. But receiving a qualification, praises or a decoration amounts to very little, if what they find when they return home is emptiness. This emptiness is the judgment of their inner board of examiners.
