God created us in his image and likeness

Each seed receives the elements it needs from the tree that produced it so that once planted, it is able to grow and become a tree like its parent. In appearance, the seed is different from the tree but on a more subtle plane, the image of the tree is inscribed within it. This is why, given good soil, the right temperature, water and light, the seed will eventually resemble the tree in every way. This symbol of the seed helps us to understand the passage from Genesis, which says that God created man ‘in his own image, after his likeness’. Humans are seeds whose destiny is one day to resemble the Cosmic Tree from which they fell. This is why all our efforts should be concentrated on consciously drawing nearer to the image of our heavenly Father that we carry within us, and to vibrate in unison with Him in order to be like Him.*
