Law of the jungle

It may rule on earth but not in heaven

Go and look at swamps and jungles, and you will see all the animals there devouring each other. Then go much higher up into heavenly regions, among the angelic hierarchies, and you will see nothing but beings who ceaselessly give out love and light. Yes, on high, you will find love and light, whereas down below there is hostility, danger, snares and merciless conflict.
In the same way, people whose occupations and desires have dragged them down to the lower regions are obliged to fight and tear each other to pieces. Then they draw conclusions about life on earth, saying that it is a dog-eat-dog world, where the law of the jungle rules. This is true as long as we stay on a low level. But the higher we climb, the more love and light we find.*
