Spirit and matter

Human beings must reach up towards the spirit

The spirit descends towards matter and matter rises towards the spirit. This is why human beings, who through their links to the physical plane represent matter, must reach up towards the spirit, their own spirit, God.
A river flowing down from the heights has the right to split up into smaller tributaries in order to water the land through which it flows. The sun too has the right to distribute its rays throughout space in order to bring life to the whole solar system. But we, who are on the periphery, must not scatter or disperse ourselves. On the contrary, we must strive with all our being towards the centre, the summit, so as to receive life and strength from it. One day, perhaps, we too shall have the right to disperse ourselves like the sun, but only once we have succeeded in identifying ourselves with the centre, when we have become as powerful, radiant and vital as the sun. Then, yes, like the sun, we will be able to project our love and light on all creatures.*
