Laws governing the three categories of human beings

September 27th 2024
It can be said that there are three categories of beings, and that each category is governed by its own law.
Primitive beings, who in repeated incarnations have sought to satisfy only their coarsest needs, are subject to the law of necessity. They are so firmly entrenched in matter that they have no freedom of movement; for them there is but one path, a very hard one that they are obliged to follow.
The law of free will governs those who are more highly evolved, those whose thoughts and actions in previous incarnations give them a certain freedom of choice today. Their freedom has its limits, of course, but they can choose between at least two possibilities. This category includes the disciples of all spiritual teachings, and all those who seek to make progress.
As for the law of divine providence, this is the law that governs the great Masters and great Initiates. Life lies open before them, vast and splendid. They are truly free, for light dwells within them.*
