God drew a circle and limited himself in order to create the world

‘When God drew a circle on the face of the deep, I was there’, says Wisdom, in the Book of Proverbs. What is this circle?* It is the boundary drawn by God himself in order to create the world. So in this sense we can say that to create, God limited himself. To limit oneself means to enclose oneself in a universe that functions and evolves according to its own laws, to have no knowledge of what exists outside or beyond that universe. The laws of life that are the object of scientific study are simply the limits that God imposed upon himself in his creation. These limits are what give matter its structure, form, shape and cohesion. A world that was not circumscribed by limits would be unstable. It could not endure, because all the matter within those limits is in motion, perpetually seeking to burst its bonds.
God drew a circle in order to restrain his own substance. The circle is a magical outline. God placed the seed of creation in the centre of this circle, and his work began.
