Conditions must be favourable in order for it to flourish

Observe a person who is still very young: the slightest incident gives rise to dramatic scenes of upheaval, rebellion and outbursts of all kinds. This is why their divine Self cannot yet flourish within them. But years later, they gradually settle down, calm starts to take hold, silence establishes itself within, and all their qualities begin to appear. Previously, these qualities were unable to manifest because the conditions were not right.
Look at what happens in nature with vegetation; occasionally, some plants grow prematurely before the end of winter, and if by misfortune a storm blows in or there is a heavy frost, they are uprooted or freeze to death. A plant cannot really flourish unless the conditions are favourable. Well, this is also the case with human beings: as long as they are exposed to storms or extreme temperatures they cannot hear the inner voice of wisdom, the voice of their higher Self. Passions must first subside, and then the conditions will be right for all their good qualities to show themselves.*
