Unity

Human beings share the same essential needs

May 23rd 2024
When the Initiates speak of unity they are not advocating uniformity. They are not saying that we should all have exactly the same thoughts, desires, tastes and activities. Life offers an extraordinarily wide variety of possibilities, and we should look for unity only in the essential aspects.
Human beings are made up of three fundamental principles: mind, heart and will. The mind needs light (knowledge); the heart needs warmth (love); and the will needs to act in an attempt to manifest the light of the mind and the warmth of the heart. It is in this sense that human beings are identical: their basic structure is the same, and their needs and aspirations correspond to that structure. Whether they are aware of this or not, whether they accept the idea or not, this is the truth of their being, and it is in this direction that they must all work.*
