Eating

Chewing releases etheric particles from our food

Nourishing oneself well involves, first and foremost, a respect for certain rules, like eating consciously, slowly, and chewing food properly. Eating slowly and chewing well aid digestion. If you swallow food without chewing it sufficiently, the stomach, when it receives it, has to provide extra energy to digest it, which tires the organism. You should also know that the mouth, which receives the food first, is a kind of laboratory, and it plays the role of a stomach on a subtler plane: it absorbs the food’s etheric particles by means of glands found on and under the tongue. You begin to eat… Why is it that, after the first few mouthfuls, even before the food can have been digested, you feel more energized? Because as the food passed through your mouth it released energy, etheric particles, which then nourished your whole nervous system. Before the stomach has transformed the food, the nervous system has already been nourished. If some people feel tired after a meal, it is because they have swallowed the food without chewing it well, and the organism has to expend more energy to digest it. That is why they are tired. If they learn to chew well, they will leave the table feeling light and full of get up and go.
