Waiting

Keeps us alert

January 15th 2011
Disciples are always waiting to be visited by a spiritual entity, an envoy from heaven, and because they are waiting all their subtle centres become active. They know that there is great power in waiting, that it keeps them alert, so that they are ready, when the visitors arrive, to open their soul and spirit to them. Jesus also emphasized the power of waiting in the passage in the Gospels where he tells his disciples, ‘Be like those who are waiting for the master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them.’ There you have it: those servants who have waited up for their master will not only be invited to his table but will be served by him!
