Angels of the four elements

Communicating with them through our food

March 26th 2015
The ancients defined the four elements in relation to the four states of matter – the solid, liquid, gaseous and igneous. Everything that is solid they called earth; everything liquid, water; everything gaseous, air, and everything igneous, that is to say heat and light, they called fire. We come across the four elements every day in the food we eat, because food presents the four states of matter – the solid, liquid, gaseous and igneous. This is why each meal can become an occasion to commune with the angels of the four elements: to ask the angel of the earth to give our physical body solidity and firmness; the angel of the water to purify our heart; the angel of the air to bring flexibility and clarity to our thinking, and lastly, the angel of fire to set our soul and spirit ablaze.
