World, inner

Is a place of the greatest freedom

Measuring the physical world is easy: we can weigh and measure each of its elements and draw their outline, and it is easy to agree on numbers and shapes. But when it comes to the psychological, inner world, how can we weigh and measure states of consciousness or draw the outlines of thoughts and feelings? How can we draw up maps of the regions of the soul and spirit? This psychological world nevertheless has great advantages: since nothing in it is made of matter, it remains free from external attack. And so, if you learn to put your inner world first – everything you experience in your heart, mind, soul and spirit – nobody will have a hold over your thoughts, feelings or beliefs. Even if you are deprived of your work and everything you own and shut up in prison, no one will be able to prevent you feeling free and continuing to reflect and pray and experiment in the laboratories of your soul.
