We must respect and protect it in all creatures

Would you like to become more alive? Would you like the life vibrating in you and emanating from you to be more intense? Of the thousands of pieces of advice I can give you, you must remember at least this one: be aware of all the life around you, and respect it as a manifestation of the Divine.
If humans started by respecting the life in their fellow humans, that in itself would be great progress. But most of the time, you would think they were going around among shadows and robots. They jostle and try to use one another as if they were simply objects or instruments. And if they feel someone is getting in their way, they look for a way to push them aside or get rid of them. What kind of life do they hope for by behaving like that? Whenever they meet someone, they should say to themselves, ‘Here is a creature who, like me, is a vessel of divine life. So I will respect and protect this creature.’ And this way, they too will become more alive.
