World within and the world outside

A balance to be found between the two

November 28th 2015
Humans are made in such a way that they must continually go outside of themselves. From the time they wake up in the morning, they go outside, meaning that they look, listen, speak, leave their house to go to work or to the shops, visit friends, have fun, go for walks and travel. This is all good, but in the long term they allow themselves to become so wrapped up in all these outer activities that they end up losing touch with themselves and no longer know who they really are. And from then on, not only do they no longer see situations clearly and so make mistakes, but they also become weaker, and the slightest shock or annoyance leaves them distraught. It is normal for humans not to stay shut up in themselves, for every contact with the outside world brings them out of themselves. But in order not to drift off course, they must be continually making sure in their mind that they restore the balance between outside and inside, between periphery and centre, matter and spirit.
