Wishes and projects

Consider them first from a moral point of view

May 21st 2018
There is nothing wrong about making wishes and plans and trying to make them come true, provided you never neglect the moral side of the question. You have the right to wish to become rich, but instead of imagining how you will use this wealth for your sole satisfaction, rather think about how you could help those in need. You can wish for beauty, but not the kind of beauty that shatters hearts and drives humans to despair or to crime: concentrate on the beauty that inspires elevated thoughts and feelings, beauty that frees human beings, releasing them from hell to project them heavenward. The trouble with humans is that they fail to consider morality in their projects. Even when they enter a spiritual teaching, many think that they will find ways to satisfy their ambitions, their covetousness. Well, no – in a spiritual teaching, moral considerations have to come first.
