True intelligence that drives out fear

It is fear that drives animals to become watchful, cunning and intelligent. But obviously, the form of intelligence that fear develops in creatures is a faculty very low down on the evolutionary ladder. Nature found this to be good for animals, but it is different where human beings are concerned; nature has planned another form of intelligence for them.
If human beings become vigilant and intelligent out of fear – fear of losing their money, their home, their health, their job or their good name – they as yet possess only an animal form of intelligence. But since it is their mission to go further than animals, another emotion must arise in them to replace fear, and this emotion is love. Love drives out fear. When love motivates human beings, true intelligence, divine intelligence, begins to awaken in them.
