God

The centre around which human beings must strive to revolve

February 23rd 2012
Each lifetime is like a circle human beings describe around a centre. Depending on their degree of evolution, they themselves may be the centre, or it may be their family, or society or the Lord. The worst possible situation is when their life revolves around themselves: the circle described is extremely tight and becomes tighter every day. If it revolves around their family or society, this offers more favourable possibilities for development, but still not the best. For even if the circle described is much wider, the fact that they are unable to see anything beyond their family or society limits their understanding. The best conditions are achieved when people have God as their centre and revolve around him. Gradually the coarser links binding them to the earth become finer and loosen, so that they have an increasingly universal, cosmic view of problems, which can benefit their family and society – and them too, of course.
