Four elements
Their correspondences in life
The four states of matter – solid, liquid, gaseous and igneous – are all present in our everyday activities. The solid state is represented by our actions; the liquid state by our feelings; the gaseous state by our thoughts; and the igneous, etheric state by the activity of our soul and spirit. Each of these four states, which are related to the four elements, corresponds symbolically to a specific trial in our life. The solid state corresponds to earthquakes, the liquid state to torrential rain and floods, the gaseous state to hurricanes and storms, and the igneous state to fires and lightning. If you think about this, you will find that accidents of this nature really do occur in your psychic life. If you want to overcome such trials, you must work to strengthen your will, purify your heart, illuminate your intellect, and sanctify your soul and spirit.*
