Why people should keep a little distance between them

If you really want your love for someone to last, do not be in too much of a rush to get close to them physically, for once the initial passion has abated, you will soon tire of them and begin to see their failings. In order to protect your inspiration you must try to keep a little distance between you.* When people want to know and experience everything all at once, they soon have no more curiosity about each other. They may even have no desire to see each other again because they have seen and eaten and drunk too much; they are saturated and their beautiful love is all over. They have sacrificed the love that brought them so many blessings, that brought heaven into their lives for the sake of a few minutes of pleasure! Why do they not try to be a little more vigilant? Why are they so quick to deprive themselves of such subtle, poetic sensations?
