Love

Disseminated everywhere, in the whole of creation

For as long as the human race has existed, it has been faced with the same questions, so our Teaching does not present you with new topics. What is new is the point of view. Take the universal question of love for instance: it is the favourite subject of poets, and every novel, play or film has to have a love story in one form or another. People want to know how lovers meet, how they fall in love, how they part ways... The names, times and places change, but the story is always the same – it is extraordinary to see that human beings never tire of hearing or reading the same thing over and over again. Love is also the essential question for a spiritual master; but there is a great difference in his way of understanding and living it. He will tell you, ‘If you fail to find love, it is because you look for it only in a man or woman. Love is disseminated in every part of the universe from the stones to the stars. This is where you must seek it, contemplate it, eat and breathe it. Only once you find the love that permeates every creature and the whole of creation can you say that you have truly found love, and then will you dwell in the fullness of love.’*
