Your ideal is to draw ever closer to the creative word

Your ideal as disciples must be to draw ever closer to the creative Word, the divine Logos. To this end you must learn to purify the Word within you, to vivify, harmonize and strengthen it, which is a science in itself.
The first rule to follow in order to achieve this is to keep a close watch over what you say, and since words are always the expression of thoughts and feelings, you must begin by being conscious of the thoughts and feelings you harbour inwardly. Tell yourselves, ‘I must not be careless. I must be on my guard and control myself, so that my words become effective, constructive and divine.’ In doing so, one day you will even learn to speak to the spirits of nature. When they see how patiently and sincerely you are cultivating the art of watching your words, and that you consider words to be a form of divine energy, they will begin to pay attention to your prayers. They will listen to them and answer them.*
